Thurber House Fall Writers’ Café goes to the Zoo!
August 26, 2009
On Sunday, September 27, from 12:30 - 4, join Thurber House at the Columbus Zoo for an afternoon of adventure and writing at the 5th Thurber House Writers’ Café.
Fourth, 5th and 6th graders and their favorite adult (mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc.) are invited to enjoy a day at the Number 1 Zoo in the country meeting gorillas and cheetah and scaly fish, slimy lizard and even Beco the new baby elephant. All of these animals will prompt story ideas to write about and then to share at the end of the day at an open mic reception with refreshments.
Registration for the event is $20 per student-adult couple, which includes admission to the Columbus Zoo. Parking is $5, unless you are a member of the Zoo, and then parking is free. Registration forms are available to download on the Thurber House website. Deadline for registration is Monday, September 21st.
I think it would be *incredibly* interesting to see if they could pull off an integration with android- so that when you hang up the phone after calling a biz with a places page you get to leave an instant review on your phone. That integration alone could revolutionize customer service forever…
