“Bebris provides another feast for Janeites in…this well-told tale.”
-Publisher’s Weekly
Austen fans will take delight in the next Thurber House Summer Literary Picnic guest, Carrie Bebris. Winner of several mystery awards, including the Daphne du Maurier Award, Bebris is best known for her beloved Mr. & Mrs. Darcy mystery series. Capturing Austen’s Regency England, Bebris entangles Austen’s characters in intrigue, with sharp dialogue, romantic interplay, and a dash of gothic atmosphere.
Her latest novel, The Intrigue at Highbury (Or Emma’s Match), introduces Mr. & Mrs. Darcy to Mr. & Mrs. Knightley. On the way to visit a friend, Mr. & Mrs. Darcy are robbed by gypsies outside of Highbury. When the Darcys seek out the magistrate, Mr. Knightley, they find that he has a mystery of his own to solve, the death of Mr. Edgar Churchill. The Darcys and the Knightleys join forces to investigate these crimes, and discover a connection between them.
Dinner for the evening from Party Panache is a chicken salad with cranberries and toasted pecans on croissants, fresh fruit salad and delectable key lime bars.
Don’t forget to bring your lawn chair, blanket, wine or other favorite beverage, and enjoy an evening of fun and friends. For more information on the full Literary Picnic author schedule, menus and how to order tickets, visit our website or call (614) 464-1032, ext 11.
